What is MID Energy meter?

"MID energy meter" refers in particular to a energy meter certified in accordance with the EU MID Directive.

MID is the Measuring Instruments Directive. The measuring instruments within the scope of the directive must pass the corresponding conformity assessment procedure before leaving the factory, comply with the 2014/32/EU Directive, and attach the CE mark before they can be placed on the EU market.

The MID Directive has been officially notified by the European Union on April 30, 2004, and has been enforced since October 30, 2006, and is the European Union's regulation used to supervise and manage measuring instruments. On 20 April 2016, Directive 2004/22/EC was repealed and Directive 2014/32/EU came into force. The directive specifies the new methodological standards for the legal system of measuring instrument products, conformity assessment procedures and the implementation period of the directive.

The purpose of this Directive is to create a single market in measuring instruments for manufacturers, ultimately benefiting consumers. The Measuring Instruments Directive enables manufacturers to obtain a certificate for universal purposes throughout Europe.

What is the significance of MID certification?

The purpose of the MID is to ensure fairness and fairness in the trade transition process and to prevent misdirection or fraud.
